研究目的, Objective

　本調査は（独）学術振興会科学研究費助成（科研費）（JSPS21H00788）の支援を受けて、国立社会保障・人口問題研究所国際関係部長の是川夕（博士（社会学））によって、平成29年～令和２年度に引き続き、令和３年度から５か年の研究プロジェクトとして行われるものです。現在、日本では中長期在留外国人が急増していますが、その多くが日本語学校への留学生として来日するところから日本での生活を始めていると考えられます。そのため、日本語学校や日本の大学に在籍する留学生を継続的に調査することで、日本における中長期在留外国人の受け入れの実態について明らかにすることが可能になると考えられます。

　This survey is conducted by Yu KOREKAWA, Ph.D., National Institute of Population and Social Security Research with the financial support from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS21H00788) for five years from FY2021 to FY2026. This survey is a national survey which aims to reveal a migratory process of international migrants such as international students or high-skilled professionals in Japan, and challenges they face.

調査方法, Structure of Survey

　法務省告示に掲載された日本語学校全てを通じて在籍する留学生にオンライン調査票を配布してもらい、各留学生本人よりオンラインにて直接回答を得る。その後、同意した対象者に対して毎年調査を継続することでパネルデータの構築を試みる。また、留学生向けの就職活動用メーリングリストや情報媒体を通じて直接回答者を募り、継続的に調査を行う事で、様々なステージにある留学生、及び元留学生の移住過程についても調査を行う。

Online questionnaires are distributed to international students (and the former international students) studying (having studied) at Japanese language school or other higher educational institution in Japan, through all Japanese language schools or the mailing list for those who are seeking a job in Japan. Those respondents are surveyed continuously, if they agree, and the surveyed data are constructed as a panel-survey.
