The visit of Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development

On Friday 28th November 2014, the delegation composed of parliamentarians of 13 Asian countries and the secretariat of AFPPD (Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development) visited IPSS on the occasion of the “The 30th Asian Parliamentarians’ Meeting on Population and Development” organized by the Asian Population and Development Association (APDA) and Japan Parliamentarians Federation for Population (JPFP). Following welcoming remark of Prof. Akira Morita, Director-General of IPSS, the staff of Department of International Cooperation and Research gave presentations;
-“About IPSS and Population Trend in Japan” by Dr. Reiko Hayashi,
-“Household and Family Changes in Contemporary Japan” by Dr. Yoshimi Chitose,
-“Social Security in Japan” by Mr. Katsuhisa Kojima,
-“International Migration in Japan: Historical Background and Contemporary Issues” by Dr. Masataka Nakagawa.

Many questions were raised and active discussions were made.
