The 9th International Conference on Population Geographies was held from 28th June to 1st July, at the University of Washington, Seattle. IPSS Researchers Dr. Reiko Hayashi (Director, Department of International Research and Cooperation), Dr. Shiro Koike (Senior Researcher, Department of Population Structure Research), Dr. Kenji Kamata (Senior Researcher, Department of International Research and Cooperation), and Dr. Masataka Nakagawa (Senior Researcher, Department of International Research and Cooperation) participated in the conference to present the following papers:
- Reiko Hayashi "On the Mobility of Women and Survival of Municipality."
- Kenji Kamata, Shiro Koike, and Yamauchi Masakazu "Evaluation of the Subnational Population Projections Accuracy: A Comparison of Several Regression Models."
- Masataka Nakagawa "Living Arrangement, Local Care Facilities and Residential Mobility of the Elderly Population in Japan: A Multilevel Analysis."
